When an employer tells you that you’re the most qualified candidate, the individual they had wanted to hire, tells you that they were impressed with your professionalism and skills, but then follows up with, “But we’ve decided we need to offer the position to another individual who has worked for us part time for the last year,” how are you supposed to feel anything but defeated?
I stood out among 400 other applicants. Nailed my interview. Was told I was the BEST candidate. And yet, I still manage not to get the job. What am I supposed to do next time? Juggle? Figure out who the other candidates are and break their kneecaps before their interviews?
I didn’t want to say anything for fear I’d jinx it. Didn’t want to get too excited once again only to be let down. And then I did. Again.
Two interviews, two jobs I didn’t get.
This will never end.
