I was given a credit at ScoreBig in exchange for an honest review of the site and its features.
First question you probably have is, what in the world is ScoreBig? Exactly what I thought when they approached me! So turns out ScoreBig is an event ticket website similar to say Ticketmaster, except that when you buy your tickets at ScoreBig you NEVER pay full price.
They offer tickets to everything you'd expect to find on a site like this, Broadway shows, sports games, comedy, tourist attractions. Basically, if you can find it on Ticketmaster, you can find it on ScoreBig. So here is how you buy tickets on ScoreBig (click for full screen image):
Here is how they're able to offer savings on tickets:
Most major games, shows and concerts have hundreds and sometimes thousands of unsold tickets—even events you’d think are sold out. When you bid on tickets at ScoreBig, we don't publish the price. That means teams and shows are comfortable giving us (and you!) huge savings—up to 60% below box office price.
I think the thing I like about the site the most is that you get to make a bid for how much you're willing to pay for an event. You select how many tickets you would like to buy, where you'd like to sit, and based on your bid you still can pay even less than these already low prices.
In the enter your bid section you can be as aggressive or as timid as you feel comfortable, and the little 'success potential' bar helps measure the confidence level of them accepting your bid. You can only bid once per day on an event though, so if you actually want to attend the event and it's time sensitive, probably best not to start with a $5 bid.
It was super easy for me to find the game Adam wanted to attend, select two tickets in the section they wanted to sit in, and offer a bid that the 'success potential' bar thought would be accepted. I hit the "bid" button and immediately I was told my bid was accepted. Suddenly Adam and his friend would be attending a Cubs game in the famous bleachers for $50 TOTAL, instead of $50 for each ticket. Adam was shocked when I told him how cheap he'd be going to the game for.
Because ScoreBig works with ticket providers to get you those low prices on tickets the venue can't sell, there was a week where I waited for the ticket to be emailed to me. ScoreBig has quite the list of guarantees too ($100 credit if any one of them isn't met) so I tried not to be crazy and fret. But, when after a week I hadn't gotten the email with my tickets and admittedly started to panic a little, their customer service team got back to me right away and told me to chill. Of course, the tickets hit my inbox a couple hours later. Sorry ScoreBig, I'm just a little crazy like that!
So this Friday, Adam and his friend will head to Cubs stadium for beer and baseball for the cost of what it would have been for one of them to sit in the General Admission section. Not. Too. Shabby.
I plan to use ScoreBig to see some Broadway shows this winter, and I already have an alert on every Chicago Blackhawk game from here till playoffs looking for great seats that open up. Happy little find to have learned about ScoreBig.
These opinions are 100% my own, and although I received a credit towards my first purchase on ScoreBig I will definitely use their site again.
