AND JUST LIKE THAT, OUR FINAL DAY WAS HERE!
Sadly, it started in Spokane, WA with Nellie not understanding Pacific Standard Time and waking us up at the crack ass of dawn. 🙁
This is what happens when you’re trying to get a picture of a sign in a moving car with two different phones at the same time. Oh the memories that have been had at the Gorge! The most exciting part of Day 5 was that after only about 3 hours we had passed through Eastern Washington’s farm land, gone over a major mountain pass and arrived in Western, Washington! We were starved and made a stop in Issaquah,WA. Eight years ago Issaquah was a fairly small little commuter city near the base of the mountains that was just starting to grow. Now we arrive and it was soooooooooo much bigger! New condos, tons of new houses, restaurants everywhere, it was crazy. WASHINGTON WHO HAVE YOU BECOME?
Just like that we were in Seattle, bags unpacked, saying high to one of my best friends in the whole world and her family. Our rental house wouldn’t be ready for us for another day, so in the meantime our friends had been kind enough to let us crash with them for the night. The last time I had seen my friend, she and her daughter had flown across the country to stay with us while I was on maternity leave when Nellie was 5 weeks old. Suddenly we were together with our babies in Seattle and they’d gone from these little lumps on a baby mat to these talking, walking, playing kids!
